El Capitan On Unsupported Mac

OS X El Capitan on Unsupported Macs macOS Extractor, OS X Patcher, and MacPostFactor are apps that guide you through patching and installing OS X El Capitan (10.11), Yosemite (10.10), Mavericks (10.9), or Mountain Lion (10.8) on your older Mac. While Apple only supports up to Mac OS X 10.7 Lion officially on the late 2007 MacBook, using the help of MLPostFactor, you can install up to OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion unofficially. Just beware that there might be some issues due to the incompatibility of newer OS software on officially unsupported hardware. The latest software makes your Mac device compatible with the new technological developments. Still, it also makes the existing OS obsolete. That's why most Mac users with old devices try to update their Mac to OS X El Capitan. However, you can't update your Mac to El Capitan 10.11 if your Mac runs on software later than Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. This is how to install Mac OS X 10.11 'El Capitan' on an unsupported Mac Pro. In this video, I use a Mac Pro 1,1 (that has been flashed to 2,1 firmware). It seems that most users who were running El Capitan will now be able to upgrade after all; everything works perfectly for me on a Mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13″, including features such as Siri. A recent update to the tool also enabled macOS updates to be received through the Mac App Store, so even that aspect is vanilla now.

This update includes:

  • Fixes adfly URL issues- Improves some error messages (makes them more explicit)

  • Fixes some minor UI issues/glitches

  • Fixes log files not appearing!

  • Add some verbosity to the install process (for logs)

How To Get El Capitan On Unsupported Mac

Installing newer versions of OSX on slightly older Macs that do not meet the official system requirements can be done using MacPostFactor (MCPF).

MacPostFactor also supports installing OSX versions up to OSX 10.10 Yosemite on older Macs. And a new version that supports installing OSX 10.11 El_Capitan is in the works.
